Most people buy indoor plants because they are beautiful. Also, plants enhance their decoration and purify the air. But after they find the plants of their dreams, they end up asking themselves: Where do I place the plants?
Before buying new plants, we recommend choosing the spot where you want to keep them. The space that you choose for your plant is super important. Once plants adapt to a spot, they don't like to be moved around. Think of the spot as their permanent space.
Once you have selected a spot, check what type of light the space will provide to your plant. There are plants for almost every light situation. Some plants need direct sun rays, others bright but indirect natural light. Others can thrive under filtered or medium light. Light is one of the most important things to consider when it comes to bringing a plant into your home. For most houseplants, the brightest room in your home is the best place for them.
Keep in mind that almost every indoor plant has tropical origins. It means, your indoor plants will prefer rooms filled with bright natural light and some air humidity. Even when a plant label says low light, the plant will be happier in a bright room with natural indirect light.
If your room only has one window and is not too bright, place the plant as close as possible to the window. Not so close that it can be burned by sun rays, but where it can get bright, indirect, natural light.
If your home does not have enough windows or glass doors with natural light, consider adding artificial grow lights. These commercial lights mimic the light that the sun produces, and are very effective.
Also, place the plants far from fans, drafts, AC vents, heaters, and radiators, because these tend to suck up the air humidity and make the air too dry. Most indoor plants prefer rooms with temperatures between 68 degrees and 78 degrees.
