Steps for repotting a houseplant
Materials Needed:
- Potting mix suited to the plant
- Pot
- Water
- Gloves
- Sense of humor (Helpful but not required)
Steps:
- Prepare: Choose the right pot and potting mix. Layer a bit of mix at the pot's bottom.
- Remove Plant: Squeeze pot sides to loosen roots. Tilt and gently remove plant.
- Check Roots: Assess root condition. Loosen root ball if necessary.
- Repot: Place plant in new pot, fill spaces with soil without packing it down.
- Water: Pour water until it drains from pot holes, ensuring even moisture.
Tip: Leave space between soil and pot rim to avoid overflow.
Note: Hold off on fertilizing until spring if repotting in fall.
